HSL Championship

2017 - B Champions

Sunday, March 1, 2026

Bow Valley Stars earned the 2017 B Championship with a tight 4-3 comeback win over Young Kings Colorado in Mundare.

After a scoreless first period, the game opened up in the second, with Bow Valley’s Jacob Shrum getting them on the board while Young Kings Colorado responded with goals from Dax Fogel and Easton Betzing to take a 2-1 lead into the third. In the final frame, Young Kings Colorado extended their advantage on a goal from Ryker Joseph, but Bow Valley mounted a three-goal push, highlighted by two goals from Jaxon Richardson and the game winner late in regulation, to complete the rally.?

Goaltending and special teams both played a role, with Young Kings Colorado going 1-for-4 on the power play while Bow Valley Stars went 0-for-4 but controlled the key moments at even strength. With their resilience and late-game surge, Bow Valley Stars were crowned 2017 B Champions at the HSL Championship.
