Monday, April 6, 2026

Spartan Hockey Academy captured the 2015 Division Championship with a 4-2 win over Rebels Hockey Academy at Morinville Silent Ice Gardens.

Rebels struck first at 5:15 of the opening period on a goal from Deacon Brown, assisted by Moston Baker, to take an early 1-0 lead. Spartan answered in the second period with a marker from Emmett Gouy, set up by Weston Hughes and Tristan Mills, to knot the game at 1-1 heading into the final frame.

The third period belonged to Spartan, who scored three unanswered goals. Xavier Munro found the back of the net at 11:19 on a feed from Maddon Sreng, followed by Avery Cripps scoring at 9:35 on a setup from Jett Smolley. Moston Baker replied for the Rebels with his second point of the game, converting on an assist from Deacon Brown, but Cripps sealed the victory with a late unassisted goal at 1:15 to close out the game 4-2. With multi-point performances from Cripps (two goals), Sreng, Smolley, Gouy, Hughes, and Mills, Spartan Hockey Academy were crowned 2015 Division Champions at the HSL Championship.
